Okay, I must admit that heights are not really my thing.  So, if you were to ask me to climb a tower and jump off, I would say “you first!”  And, I am true to my words (see my first photo) I asked Denise to go first, you know, so I could get a good picture! In the end, I really loved Zip Lining!

Denise, (she is “The super shopper!”) found a Groupon online for it and said, “hey, we ought to try this, it sounds like fun!” Setting good sense aside (that means, ignoring my fear of heights) I said, sure let’s go zip lining!

Well, as you can see from the photos, it was a blast!

Perfect for the adrenaline junkie in you. And, quite safe, the trained guides make sure that your fears are strapped tight inside your harness and will not fall out!

The locals are friendly too!

The one pictured below, couldn’t wait for us to come down out of those silly trees.  He awaited us with open arms!  (by that, I meant open mouth!)

If the trip across the zip line wasn’t enough for you, there is the suspension bridge at the end.

You can just walk across it (just don’t look down!).  I believe I prefer the speed of the zip line over walking across a bridge that is being tossed about by the wind.  (Nah, it was a beautiful day, that last line was tossed in simply to be dramatic!)

Swamp Buggy! Getting our groove on!

At the end of our tree top tour, we got to ride in this really cool swamp buggy! Now, that’s how you “pimp” your ride in South!

Zip Orlando, is over 3 hours from us,

And, so we travel the day before* and stayed in a hotel in Orlando the night before. This allowed us to get up early, bright eyed and bushy tailed and ready for this adventure.

This trip tip* is one we use often and it allows us to get two adventures out of one.  Travel the day before, have dinner and take in the sites, retire to your hotel and rest.  Then you can get up the next morning, travel a few minutes and be ready to attack the day fully rested.

Looking for a daring zip line escape for you and your friends or family? Do something exciting while on vacation? Cross something off your bucket list? Spend time on adventure not in the car driving to an adventure? Then Zip Orlando is for you!

For my Handi-capable Friends

We took this trip in March of 2011, and at this point, I was still able to get around quite well.  This particular adventure is not for those without at least limited mobility.

Let me share with you the most important thing I have discovered.  Where ever you go, whatever you see, share it with others!  Don’t be afraid to stop and smell the roses, to share a smile with a stranger, a meal with friends and build memories together that will last a lifetime!

All photographs in this post were taken by the author, Bill McQueen, amateur photographer, food enthusiast and sometimes traveler.
