Denise and I recently got our TSA Pre✓®. It was fast!
We applied online, setup an appointment to be fingerprinted for the background check, went to our local TSA office at the Tampa Airport, paid the $85.00 fee and then, we were done! Our appointment at the airport, it took less than 10 minutes per person! Our wait to get our TSA Pre✓ ® KTN, just a little over a week! Denise received her confirmation my mail, I received mine via e-mail. Of course, our results may not be yours. We were informed that it could take up to 60 days for your application to be processed.
The moral of this story?
This is money well spent! But, don’t wait until you are ready to fly to try and get your KTN, it could take up to 60 days to process your application, and I am sure, they have busy times such as holidays that play into the length of time it will take you!
I called and asked, “I have a handicap and sometimes use a wheelchair, do I still need the TSA Pre✓® will getting a KTN benefit me?” The answer was “yes, it will, you won’t have to remove belts, shoes, light jackets (unless otherwise directed!) and now, you can leave your electronics in your carry on bags!”
What if I have TSA Pre✓® and I use a wheelchair or scooter?
