What would you do with an old commercial freezer?

Turn it into a restaurant of course!

But not just a restaurant, a full fledge “dive” called “The Freezer” (Oh come on, what were you expecting it to be called?)  LOL

This is one of Homosassa’s best-kept secrets.

I say that not because it is a secret, oh no, all the locals know about it!  But, you have to know a local who has been there, knows where it is and who is willing to share their secret! (I read one review, begging you not to go because they wanted to make sure you didn’t get their table!) LOL

A local who tells you what it looks like,

Otherwise, you would drive right by it.  There are no large billboards or road signs pointing the way.  Nope, just one simple sign hung above the handicap ramp to the front entrance.

Handicap Accessibility

Yes, my handi-capable and mobility challenged friends, this gem is handicap accessible. Although it gets kind of congested inside as the lines form to place their orders!

Go early, the lines get long quick!

The locals were right when they said to go early!  The food was awesome and the place packed out quickly.  I was first in line when they started taking orders at 12:00 and our food came out quick! We had the steamed shrimp, butter garlic wings, roast beef wrap and the clam chowder in a bread bowl.

The menu is limited.  But honestly, I would rather see a small menu done right than a large menu not executed well!  The prices are very reasonable and the portions, as you can see are quite generous!

The Freezer is located at…

5590 S Boulevard Dr, Homosassa, FL 34448.  They don’t have a website.  Judging by the crowds, the word of mouth is working just fine!  You will definitely want to mapquest the address!

The Freezer

Come by land or sea!

They have reviews on Tripadvisor and Yelp to name a few and I believe they may have a Facebook page, but don’t take our word for it… go and try it for yourself, you will be glad you did!

Let me share with you the most important thing I have discovered.  Where ever you go, whatever you see, share it with others!  Don’t be afraid to stop and smell the roses, to share a smile with a stranger, a meal with friends and build memories together that will last a lifetime!
