Rowing, rowing down the river…

So what do you do to cool off on a hot Florida day?  Some stay home in the AC, others go to the beach, but we go to the river and get our Kayak on! Our destination, Nobleton Outpost, on the Withlacoochee River.

This road trip destination lies just an hour north of us and makes for an awesome daycation!  It’s close, which means we have more time for fun and it’s on the river, which means we can cool off in the Withlacoochee River!

Yes, you will get a workout, but the scenery is beautiful and quite relaxing.  The water, on the other hand, can be quite exhilarating!  (chilly to say the least!)  Which, I must say is quite the fix for a sweltering hot Florida summer day!

I believe, that there is an unwritten law that says you must go under, rather that around limbs that stretch over the waterway.  Although doing so may be the cause of you getting up close and personal with some of Florida’s more slithering wildlife!

This is a family-friendly outing, including our furbabies!  So, go ahead and pack up the family and head out for a relaxing day on the river!

On a final note, there are several amenities here, but this is not for those with limited mobility.

Let me share with you the most important thing I have discovered.  Where ever you go, whatever you see, share it with others!  Don’t be afraid to stop and smell the roses, to share a smile with a stranger, a meal with friends and build memories together that will last a lifetime!
