Need a little help or inspiration? Amputee Support Groups…
I know that there are others out there, like me, who sometimes feel alone and don’t know where to turn. Did you know that there are free resources for education and amputee support on Facebook? Well, now you do! I know that I will barely scratch the surface with the support groups that I found on Facebook alone! If you know of one that I have missed, by all means, please comment below and share it with us! Amputees need you, big, tall, short or small, limb loss awareness/support, it takes us all!
Facebook Amputee Groups (or at least a few of the ones I found!)
I’ve done most of the research for you! I have linked the group, with the actual Facebook Group Page, all you have to do is click on the group that you are interested in! (As a disclaimer, I follow each of these groups, but I do not represent or am I endorsed by any of them). All of the links “should” open in a new page!
I should also note, that you have to be a Facebook Member to access these groups. Membership is free of course and you can sign up by clicking this link (Join Facebook) if you do not already have a page. Some of these groups are public and others are private groups that you must join before you can read the “wall posts” and receive updates. I suggest you “like and follow” a few, check out their content and then most of all, participate and share! Healing is in sharing.

I had the pleasure of hearing Ms. Amy Purdy speak once
If inspiration is what you need, then check out Amy’s story! This is a clip from her bio, “Author, motivational speaker, entrepreneur, philanthropist, fembot fashionista, globetrotter, inspiration seeker, snowboarder, Sochi Bronze Medalist, DWTS 18 Runner-up, grateful for every day and all the inspiration around me. #LiveInspired” Here is the link to Amy Purdy’s Facebook page.
Oh, and did I mention that she was on Dancing with the Stars? Amy also has a book available on Amazon. Amazon has her book in Kindle version, hardcover, paperback, or my favorite, the Audible version!
If you are like me and find it easier to listen than to read,
And, you are not already a member of Audible, you can click the Audible banner in the sidebar to sign up. New members are able to get two Audible books for free, during their trial period. Audible books can be downloaded to your phone, computer or tablet and it really does not get any more convenient than that!
The sky is the limit, no scratch that!
There are no limits to what you can do as an amputee. Honestly, camping, fishing, hiking, swimming, jogging, racing, biking, surfing, golfing, playing hockey, yeah, you can do that!
