Galene’s Paradise… an extraordinary place!

Galene’s Paradise

Have you ever been driving down the highway, spotted a neat little shop, slammed on the brakes and blurted out… “we have just got to check that place out!”  Well, Galene’s Paradise is that place! Galene’s Paradise is located at 808 Pass A Grille Way, Pass A Grille, Florida.  And yes, Pass A Grille is the name of a real town!

Towards the end of Pass-A-Grille Way, as it moves along the content Intercoastal Waterway, sits a brightly colored and beautifully decorated home. It is an extraordinary place filled with unique and entertaining artworks, glass and jewelry.

Galene Shorter bought the mission style home in March. As of August, the two-story residence—now one-hundred years old—has now become the source of Galene’s Paradise, a gallery filled with Shorter’s handcrafted glass signs and night lights, as well as works by about 20 other artists.

Pass A Grill is full of fun shops and restaurants and the perfect spot to catch a gorgeous Florida sunset!

“We are so excited about our garden… we wet our plants!”

One of our favorite parts about browsing little eclectic shops like this is reading the signs.  I am quite sure you might think us a little crazy if you overhear us excitedly saying “hey, did you see this one!” or “OMG you have got to see this!” The truth of the matter is, we are!

Just so we are on the same page, this is a shop with art and jewelry and all sorts of hidden gems, and they are for sale!  So, come and have a laugh or two, but be sure to purchase something to take with you and support the local economy! (no, this is not a paid advertisement!)

For my handicap friends…

this store is located inside a historic home and as long as you can get around with a cane or walker, you will be able to navigate this hidden gem!

I stopped in looking for locally made items yesterday while I was in Florida. Galene was very gracious & showed me all kinds of great items. I picked out a few gifts & of course something for myself. I felt like I made a new friend in Galene & her cute dog Jenny. If you’re ever in the area, stop in, browse and support local artists. -M. Jones, Sept 2016
