Ok, yesterday we had another first, we rode in a New York Taxi Cab. Oh, and did I mention the driver was taking power naps at the traffic lights!!!!
I kid you not, I mean you can’t make this stuff up! I actually had to wake him up when one of the lights changed! If you have ever driven or been to NYC, you know that green lights are like gold, and hard to come by well green lights without stopped traffic in the middle of the street blocking your way, or pedestrians walking into traffic (taking their lives into their own hands!) not to mention, although I am, the horn signals (a story for another day) and here we are with a clear street and a green light and our driver, asleep at the wheel!
Luckily, we were within a block of our destination and were able to make a safe exit and finish our journey on foot! (not an amputee pun, but hey if the “shoe” fits!)
We made it back to Grand Central from the American Museum of Natural History, just in time for the 5:57 train back to Tarrytown! Score!
Let me share with you the most important thing I have discovered. Where ever you go, whatever you see, share it with others! Don’t be afraid to stop and smell the roses, to share a smile with a stranger, a meal with friends and build memories together that will last a lifetime!
