Parasail? You, want to do what, Denise? Ok, so for those of you who do not know Denise and me personally, would not know that Denise is a bit on the tame side when it comes to adventure! She prefers to leave the most adventuresome stuff for the adrenaline junkies. Roller coasters? Nope, I’ll watch!
Thank you! Today’s blog post is a special thank you to all of those that make things happen behind the scenes! Often times, these poor souls are forgotten as we go about enjoying ourselves. On an unfortunate day, you can hear someone grumbling at them, “I don’t want to!” or “do I have too?” and
Half Moon Cay Yes, it’s true Half Moon Cay is Carnival’s private 2,400-acre island, that serves as a private retreat for passengers on the line’s Caribbean and Panama Canal sailings. The morning of our arrival at Half Moon Cay, the weather was less than desirable. The ship could not dock on the island because of high
Step back in time to 1750 at Philipsburg Manor A few years back on one of our trips to New York we stopped by Philipsburg Manor. The visitor center is on one side of the lake and provides quite the picturesque view of the Philipsburg Manor. Philipsburg Manor is located at 381 N Broadway, Sleepy Hollow,
Are you a fan of history? I am! Then perhaps you should visit historic St. Augustine Florida! Taking a walk down the narrow cobblestone streets of St. Augustine can almost transport you back in time! Ghosts & Gravestones St. Augustine Frightseeing Tour anyone? Do you love old graveyards? Does the ghostly hold an attraction for you! If
So, what do you do when it’s 19 degrees out? We go for a ride! (It is warmer in the car after all!)
We had a spare day or two before the wedding and so we decided to do a little exploring out of Ossining, NY and up the Connecticut coastline. Our first stop was in Bridgeport, where we found Seaside Park.
If you ever find yourself in Tarrytown, NY, you just have to stop by this quaint little slice of taco heaven, the Taco Project! Located at 18 Main Street in Tarrytown, this small corner restaurant delivers big on fresh and flavorful!
“While visiting The Ringling you are welcome to explore the Bayfront Gardens at your leisure. As awe-inspiring as any work of art, The Ringling Bayfront Gardens are a living treasure. Courting couples statuary watch over Mable’s Rose Garden. The shade the majestic Banyan trees provide. The delight inspired by the whimsy of the Dwarf Garden. The echoes from the past where the Circus King finally rests in the Secret Garden.”
The circus was self-sustaining. There was no outsourcing in those days. If they needed something, they didn’t buy it, they made it! If there was an obstacle, they would overcome it. Life in the circus was hard, but you never saw it from the outside, you only saw the smiles of the clowns and felt the magic in the air. (I would suppose that if you close your eyes, you can almost hear the circus music and feel the excitement of the circus you experienced as a child, even today.)
Should you find yourself in Sarasota, with a little time on your hands, might I suggest a visit to The Ringling | Circus Museum?
We found ourselves in this predicament, however, I must confess, a visit to the Circus Museum was the purpose of our visit to Sarasota. That and a trip to Yoder’s Amish Resturant! (But, Yoders’s is a blog topic that demands its own post and so, I leave it for another day!)
Laughter is an instant vacation!
