Pack the essentials in your carry on. Your luggage may not be delivered to your room for a while. A swimsuit, sunscreen, and a change of clothes are good examples, not to mention any medications you may need. Denise has a travel checklist that comes in handy. You don’t want to be buying items on board that you could have brought from home!
The wise old owl once said…
How would I know? I don’t speak owl! “who0” am I kidding your just lucky I didn’t start singing… (ok, now you made me do it!) “who, who are you?”
We discovered this magnificent creature just hanging out at Denise’s parents home. He was just sitting there, as still as could be, not bothered by the gawking humans “who” were rambling on relentlessly about never seeing an owl during the daylight hours!
If you have ever been to sea on a cruise then I believe you might have encountered these peaceful creatures. They seemly appear out of nowhere. I mean, you leave your cabin to set out on whatever adventures await you and when you return, you find them “lurking” about in your cabin.
Let me share with you the most important thing I have discovered. Where ever you go, whatever you see, share it with others! Don’t be afraid to stop and smell the roses, to share a smile with a stranger, a meal with friends and build memories together that will last a lifetime!
Cozumel is the only city in the world where the first thing I did when exiting the cab was to kiss the ground and thank the good Lord for a safe arrival, despite the best intention of the cab driver! To be “fare” though, pun intended, they get paid by how many trips they make from the port to Puerta Maya. Which translates, to passing on the left, passing on the right, running red lights, and almost running over the poor tourist who thought it wise to walk!
One of the things I failed to mention perhaps was all the fun, “clean” (or not so clean!) entertainment! Having never imagined I would see anyone juggling spaghetti, this was quite the spectacle!
I am, a self-proclaimed digital nomad, working where ever the WIFI signal is strongest. I’m not really a nomad, yet. But those of you who follow my blog, know that I like to travel whenever the opportunity presents itself. Today, the opportunity did not present itself and so, I am “working!”
Every time I come across these photos I chuckle. Who are they, I don’t know, I will never know. What I do know is that I was in the right place at the right time, to capture these moments. That is, after all, my superpower, I can freeze time!
This saying is not a new one, you might have heard your grandmother or even mother say it. You probably just shook your head, chuckled and walked away, never giving another thought! Believe it or not, there is true wisdom in those words.
The holidays have passed and I guess that I should give in and change the Christmas sock on my prosthesis for one a little less festive…
