Dude wake up! The light turned green!

I kid you not, I mean you can’t make this stuff up! I actually had to wake him up when one of the lights changed! If you have ever driven or been to NYC, you know that green lights are like gold, and hard to come by well green lights without stopped traffic in the middle of the street blocking your way, or pedestrians walking into traffic (taking their lives into their own hands!) not to mention, although I am, the horn signals (a story for another day) and here we are with a clear street and a green light and our driver, asleep at the wheel!

The Ringling, in Sarasota, Florida

“While visiting The Ringling you are welcome to explore the Bayfront Gardens at your leisure. As awe-inspiring as any work of art, The Ringling Bayfront Gardens are a living treasure. Courting couples statuary watch over Mable’s Rose Garden. The shade the majestic Banyan trees provide. The delight inspired by the whimsy of the Dwarf Garden. The echoes from the past where the Circus King finally rests in the Secret Garden.”

Dr. Who?

Denise and I took a day trip to this years Tampabay Area Renaissance Festival at MOSI this past weekend. And, do you know who we saw there? Dr. Who? of course!

I am the only one who thinks that it was kind of ironic that I was leaning up against a “time machine” with Dr. Who, while I was wearing an “I can freeze time” t-shirt?

Part 2, the Ringling Circus Museum. The wonder behind the splendor.

The circus was self-sustaining. There was no outsourcing in those days. If they needed something, they didn’t buy it, they made it! If there was an obstacle, they would overcome it. Life in the circus was hard, but you never saw it from the outside, you only saw the smiles of the clowns and felt the magic in the air. (I would suppose that if you close your eyes, you can almost hear the circus music and feel the excitement of the circus you experienced as a child, even today.)

A little clowning around in Sarasota, Florida!

Should you find yourself in Sarasota, with a little time on your hands, might I suggest a visit to The Ringling | Circus Museum?

We found ourselves in this predicament, however, I must confess, a visit to the Circus Museum was the purpose of our visit to Sarasota. That and a trip to Yoder’s Amish Resturant! (But, Yoders’s is a blog topic that demands its own post and so, I leave it for another day!)
